Pathfinder 1e Archetype Druid

Sunrider

Sunriders help their allies, be they fellow tribe members or fellow adventurers, to survive in harsh desert terrain, while simultaneously making it even harsher for their foes. They seem to share a single mind with their loyal steeds, and companions who ride with them become an eerily well-coordinated cavalry unit that traverses the treacherous desert sands with ease to wreak havoc upon invaders.

Archetype Features

Sunrider Proficiency

A sunrider gains proficiency with the shortbow but loses proficiency with the scythe, sickle, and quarterstaff. She adds Knowledge (local) to her list of class skills but does not gain Profession as a class skill.

Steed Bond Level 1

↪ builds on Nature Bond (Druid)

A sunrider must use her nature bond to gain a horse or pony as an animal companion; she cannot choose a domain. This ability alters nature bond.

Practiced Rider Level 2 F · Gated Unlock

↪ builds on Woodland Stride (Druid)

At 2nd level, a sunrider does not need to attempt Ride checks for any task with a DC of 15 or lower while mounted. This ability replaces woodland stride.

Guide the Herd Level 3 F · Gated Unlock

↪ builds on Trackless Step (Druid)

At 3rd level, allied mounts within 30 feet of a sunrider ignore the effects of rocky or sandy difficult terrain. This ability replaces trackless step.

Desert Strider Level 4 E · Scaling Numeric Track

↪ builds on Resist Nature's Lure (Druid)

At 4th level, a sunrider gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and on Knowledge (geography), Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks while in desert terrain, and she cannot be tracked there. Allies within 30 feet gain a +1 bonus on these checks. This ability replaces resist nature's lure.

Concerted Effort Level 4 I · Companion Entity

↪ builds on Wild Shape (Druid)

At 4th level and various levels thereafter, a sunrider's mount gains improvements: evasion at 4th, a speed bonus at 6th, devotion at 8th, multiattack at 10th, improved saves at 12th, improved evasion at 16th, bonuses to AC and attack rolls at 18th, and damage reduction at 20th. This ability replaces wild shape.
