Whenever you damage an opponent with a piercing weapon, you can immediately make a grapple check; succeeding at this check means you have impaled the opponent and both you and they have gained the grappled condition. If the weapon is a one-handed or two-handed weapon, you can hold the opponent at weapon-range, which means that you do not have to move into an adjacent square, though they can hit you with any attacks they can make while grappled. The impaled creature can escape with an Escape Artist check or grapple check as normal, or by destroying the weapon. You cannot move away from the opponent without releasing the weapon. You may continue to attack your opponent with your impaling weapon, although you cannot impale them again. You may also make attacks with other weapons as normal, subject to the normal limitations of grappling.
Normal: You can only attack with an unarmed strike, natural weapon, or light weapon against opponents you are grappling.
