When you make a full attack with a shielded staff, you can make a single additional attack with the attached shield as an off-hand attack. This attack is made at your highest base attack bonus, and it deals bludgeoning damage as though it were an off-hand attack with a spiked light shield of your size (even if the shield is a buckler or does not have shield spikes). You gain the shield bonus from your shielded staff even when you make this attack.
