Encounter Tables
Random encounter tables are best treated as pressure tools, not plot generators. Use them to answer “what lives here?” and “what interrupts travel?” after you know the terrain, the party’s level, and the current campaign pressure.
This page is data-driven from the seeded PF1e bestiary. It groups monsters by their environment text, lets you filter by terrain and CR band, and can pick a random candidate when you want something fast at the table.

Terrain Notes
Wilderness Tables
Use forest, plains, hills, mountains, marsh, and desert when travel time matters. Roll once for presence, then once for which creature appears.
Special Regions
Use underground, aquatic, urban & ruins, and planar for themed locations. The environment text on outsiders and dungeon monsters is strong enough to make these tables useful out of the box.
